WELCOME
We live in an era of ubiquitous surveillance. The purpose of this site is to help you help yourself: You need to get smart and you need to take action if you want to retain any shred of control over your privacy and anonymity. The first step in taking control is avoiding observation and detection: Crypsis. Your privacy is DIY -- nobody is going to help you.
Our privacy is at risk; indeed, the very definition of privacy is changing and many argue persuasively that it no longer exists. We can't go places, do things, say things, or hang out with anyone without being observed and identified. Who wants to know? Businesses, governments, and "non-state actors" of all kinds (including criminals) want this information for their own purposes. What you think or want will not stop them if you do nothing.
We all have our reasons for occassionally wanting to yell, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!" (Howard Beale, Network, 1976) Today, I am fed up with living under constant surveillance, and even more fed up that there seems little anybody can do about it.
I believe my information belongs to me, including who I am, that it is my decision who and when to tell, and my right to control how my information is used. Facebook, Google, Twitter, and a slew of other companies all want to use information about ME to make money. Some argue that my use of those services is a fair exchange of value. I say no.
